Sign up for spring sports camps

Skateboarding
Whether your child loves to slam dunk, score goals or hit home runs, the City of Carlsbad has a camp fit for players of every sport this spring break. Camps run from April 1 through 5 and registration is open now at www.carlsbadca.gov/parksandrec.

Young children (ages 4 to 6) will learn and explore soccer, basketball, tee-ball, flag football, and track and field all in one week with Master Your Sport Jr. camp, held at Stagecoach Park.

Teamwork and good sportsmanship will be the focus of Master Your Sport dodgeball at Stagecoach Community Center. This fun, fast-paced camp is designed for children ages 7 to 13.

Those soccer fanatics or fanatics-to-be will learn fundamentals and new skills in the Coast 2 Coast soccer camp at Poinsettia Park, open to kids ages 4 to 14 and led by qualified and enthusiastic coaches from Ireland.

And skaters ages 9 to 13 will love the cool new Go Skate skateboarding camp at the Carlsbad Skatepark. They’ll become confident skaters in no time during this week practicing proper foot placement, balance, basic tricks and proper skatepark etiquette and safety.

“From soccer to volleyball to skateboarding, the City of Carlsbad strives to offer sports camps that suit every child’s interest while also bringing the high-quality programming and instructors that parents expect,” said Steve Herrera, recreation supervisor for the City of Carlsbad. “We look forward to a ton of fun this spring break!”
