Construction at Library on Dove Lane

Starting in early February, construction improvements will begin in the parking lot and courtyard entry of Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane. The Library will be open normal hours during the duration of the construction project, currently estimated to take approximately three months.  Library programs and access to the Cannon Art Gallery will not be impacted by the construction.

The curb between the two handicapped ramps directly in front of the library will be removed, and the transition between the parking lot and the front of the library will gently slope up to the courtyard, improving safety. Lighting will be added at the curb, along with a seating area, providing a better location for patron pick-up and drop-off.

Signs will guide patrons around the construction area and into the Library’s main doors. There may be some additional noise during the project, particularly in the first few weeks. The construction crew will be working within an enclosed environment to keep the impacts on Library patrons to a minimum.
